The style Opera House is located at 2020 Post Office Street in Galveston's Historic Downtown Cultural Arts District. Due to the foresight and generosity of several generations of Galvestonians, The Grand stands today as an important linkage to our past and an important part of our future. Rental Information In addition to presenting year-round performances, The Grand offers an elegant and unique setting for receptions and meetings. The stage space can be extended over the seats to accommodate seated dinners for larger groups. The theatre can accommodate groups of 50 to as many as 1,000. Frank Cox designed the Romanesque Revival building. Six years after its completion, the hurricane of 1900 rolled into Galveston and the Opera House sustained extensive damage, but it was quickly rebuilt. As the saying goes, the show must go on!
